Have you worked in the Czech Republic for a minimum of two years, and are you an EU citizen or have a permanent address in the Czech Republic?
Go to the Labour office for your local council (e.g. Prague 1, Prague 10) and provide either 'A' or 'B', depending on your circumstances:

You must provide: 1. Residence card 2. Residence card with your actual address of residence. Or proof of address (lease contract, certificate from property registry, letter from the owner that you live in his/ her apartment). 3. End of employment contract (a written agreement on ending your job, or termination of your contract). 4. Social registration cards (a pink card) for your last two years of employment. This will be given you by your employer. 5. Statement of the duration of employment. 6. Statement of your average income in your last job. 7. Completed application form.
Have you cancelled your business licence (živnostenký list)?
1. Residence card with your residence actual address. Or proof of address (lease contract, certificate from property registry, letter from the owner that you live in his/ her apartment). 2. Report from social office about the duration of your business licence . This is issued once you pay all outstanding social security payments. 3. Report on other earnings within the last two years, if any (social registration cards and statement of employment. 4. Completed application form. 5. You might be required to submit your tax report to allow the government to calculate your average income and social security contributions.
You will get an appointment with your individual officer at your application interview. Here you may be offered a job or given another appointment.
You will receive your unemployment benefit from the day of your application interview.
The ability to speak Czech or bringing a translator is required.
